Why are you a designer?

When I was a kid, I really liked to draw. The only subject in school that I liked more than biology was drawing. At first, I had a future goal to become an architect, but because I was not so skilled in math, I chose to become a graphic designer and it turned out to be a very exciting career path for me. It also became a job where I could earn a lot of money, haha.

How would you describe your design style?

I probably cannot speak for my design style over the years as it has changed over time. However, it can be said that my style of design is popular today. Although don’t get me wrong; I’m not a fan of having a specific catered style. The most important thing to me is that my designs are not unsightly and that they can be enjoyed by many people.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Pinterest, taking walks around my village and sometimes even the toilet.

Do you have a favourite quote? If yes, what is it and why?

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” by Albert Einstein, because in my opinion, without a strong imagination, people wouldn’t be able to create something great.

Who are some of your favourite designers that inspired you the most?

Leonardo Da Vinci, Niky Laatz, Gilang Purnama.

What would you like to achieve in the next few years?

I want to create designs that are hated and loved by people at the same time. For example, the “Comic Sans” font.

What advice do you have for other upcoming Designpreneurs?

Keep working and be consistent, then the style and earnings will come. Create great work beyond your ability.
